Thinking of our career sometimes gets us high. We tend to dream of six-figures corporate salary and a cozy office with bunch of secretaries. Easy life is it not? But sometimes, these imagery of career planning becomes an obstacle from grasping the practical and effective means of starting a good career. There is a tendency that one get extremely frustrated when the realization of such aspirations become long delayed, and worst, does not happen. Sometimes, even a simple picture of you working on a big corporation as a simple employee is hard to realize nowadays.
This is because our economy is just not ready yet to accommodate each and every desired career. Hence, one has to breakaway from the idea of instant careers because the reality seems to require serious hard work and perseverance for one to climb the corporate ladder. Although there are some who excelled easily in these field, they should be regarded as inspirations or their experiences be sources of lessons for us to learn and apply at practicable circumstances. But one thing is certain, just like those who now enjoy affluence due to successfully building a career, we too must start from the simplest step. Careers begin at employment. Employment allows one to grow as a professional and advance one’s skills and qualities.
Careers employment must be thought of. Not all forms employment leads or contributes to your career path. One must carefully plan entrance and exit to and from any company or industry. Once a person decides to apply for a job at a certain establishment or company, he or she must realize that it might his or her lifetime. Even if it would not, such job would take much of his time from actually building the career he or she desires.
